Centurio Multiple Coil Selection

The Centurio is a revolutionary new machine that is fundamentally changing the way metal coils are handled and stored, resulting in the dramatic and measurable efficiencies in the metal component industry.

The newly-introduced Centrurio is an automatic coil handling and warehousing system for light gauge sheet metal that is allowing metal forming factories to improve production time and reduce scrap rates, while reducing labour requirements, enhancing safety and saving space.

The Centurio’s Storage capacity not only saves floor space, but reduces the risk of damage that can occur when the coil is being moved constantly. Shops no longer have to devote countless man hours and extensive floor space to move and store coils.

Instead, once coils are placed in the machine’s coil production warehouse, they can be stored until needed, freeing up shop space and manpower.

Dozens of coils can be stored in the Centurio, and once the axles have been inserted and the coils loaded, they never have to be touched again.

By linking the Centurio to a roll former or cutting system, a customer can create a completely independent and automated system that will store, load, uncoil and feed unlimited output of sheet metal, all automatically. This drastically reduces the risk of damage to the expensive material.

CHANGE OVER MADE EASY

When coils arrive from the supplier, a coil axle is inserted. The coil is placed into the warehousing system and is never touched again by human hands until the core is thrown away. The result: fully automated coil changeover with no human involvement.

This change over frees up hours for extra production (which can equate to hundreds of thousands of dollars in additional sales volume. Customers are finding that coil changes can be preformed in two or three minutes with grater than ever accuracy, reducing change over time on average by more than half. Change colours, change shifts, change your mind…. Centurio will handle it without effort.

CENTURIO CREATES COST EFFICIENCIES

In some cases, the savings in scrap alone on an annual basis covers or exceeds the cost of the Centurio system – no more pup coils and no more inventory write-offs of unused coil material. By weighing the coil each time it is picked-up, the system converts the weight to the remaining linear feet available and alerts the operator to add more of the same coil to the system if necessary.

The system can support and be linked to various fabricating machines such as slitting lines and roll formers through the use of very cleaver docking system.

This allows the system to support most brands of slitting systems or roll formers.

Because the Centurio system is modular, it can be configured to meet the dimensional and capacity needs of any customer, from small shops to factories, and also adapts to our customer’s machines. Metal forming will work with customers to custom-design the best system, and then provide installation and training. As with all Metalforming products, a warranty is provided.

HOW IT WORKS

• An operator (only one is required!) enters job data or downloads orders from a remote computer system.
• The coil manipulator returns the most recently used coil to the storage area.
• It then moves the coil required for the new job from the storage area to the processing machine and positions the leading sheet edge precisely to the input position ( entry slot) of the processing machine
• The feeding device grabs the starting edge of the coil, opens the pressurized coil clamp and inserts the metal into the processing machine.
