Discover the Versatility of Guillotine Shears in Sheet Metal Fabrication
Affordable, robust, and accurate guillotine shears are essential tools in modern sheet metal workshops. Bulldog UK offers a range of manual and powered guillotines designed to deliver clean, straight cuts quickly and safely.
What Are Guillotine Shears?
Guillotine shears are cutting machines designed to slice through sheet metal in a straight line using top and bottom blades. Bulldog UK offers several types to suit different workshop needs.
These manually operated shears use foot power for accurate cutting and are ideal for mild steel up to 1.6 mm thick. Models range in cutting widths from 610 mm to 2540 mm and feature high-quality double-edge blades, angular back gauges, and CE-approved rear guards.
The motor-driven Model SMT is engineered for easy handling, with a max capacity of 1.5 mm sheet thickness at 3100 mm working length. It features a hold-down bar with non-skid lining, stainless steel gauges, and an extensible front support bar for improved handling of large sheets.
These fully electric models are built with an all-steel welded frame, low cutting angles for straight edges, and a surplus of motor power for smooth shearing. Designed to cut mild and stainless steels, they include foot-pedal operation, front and rear guards, and optional squaring guides and push-pull back gauges.
Why Use Guillotine Shears?
- Provide clean, straight cuts with minimal distortion or burrs
- Suitable for cutting mild steel, stainless steel, and non‑ferrous metals
- Simplify production workflows with fast, easy operation
- Safe to operate, thanks to CE‑approved guarding and foot‑control options
