Lockforming Machines for Sheet Metal Fabrication
Bulldog UK supplies a full range of Lockforming Machines designed to create strong, accurate seams in sheet steel. These machines are ideal for producing air ducts, cladding, and flashing, with no need for post-seaming.
Pittsburgh and Button Punch Options
Machines are available in 20’s (5-station) or 16’s (7-station) setups, depending on seam size and material thickness. The 16’s version includes automatic gauge compensation to keep seams tight across varying sheet thicknesses. Each machine can be fitted with one of ten CNC-machined roll sets on the outboard shaft.
The Button Punch machine forms a female profile between the sideplates and a right-angle flange profile on the outboard. It also includes gauge compensation and forms a 14 mm pocket using 35 mm of material.
Flanging Machines and Attachments
Flanging Machines can form right-angle flanges up to 15 mm high on material between 0.7 and 1.6 mm. The outer roll pivots to allow easy removal of discs, and an Autoguide version keeps flange height consistent. A button punch head can be added as needed.
Flanging attachments can also be mounted to standard rollformers, forming 10 mm flanges on 0.4–1 mm thick sheet. These come with autoguide as standard.
Hand Tools for Tight Spaces
The Button Punch Snap Lock hand tool plier is ideal for working in hard-to-reach areas and is especially useful in ducting and flashing work. It works in conjunction with the main rollformer and flanging machines.
